J.Crew x Lane Crawford
J.Crew, the iconic American retailer and Lane Crawford, Asia’s leading designer specialty store, created a strategic partnership in the fall of 2012, spearheaded by GOGOLUXE.
The temporary installation, set in Lane Crawford’s iconic flagship stores in Hong Kong and China, provided customers in this key retail territory with special access to the J.Crew women’s and men’s collections for the first time, including online. The curated selection of the J.Crew women’s ready-to-wear and shoes, along with men’s apparel and accessory collections, allowed customers to experience J.Crew in a retail environment, in all it’s glory, outside North America. J.Crew, together with the talented visual merchandise team at Lane Crawford, even re-created the highly regarded men’s ‘Liquor Store’ buildout concept (from NYC), within the department store.
The launch event was a great success, bringing over J.Crew ceo Mickey Drexler and president Jenna Lyons, along with a senior team of designers and merchants, where they met with the local customer and toasted the collaboration. This compelling installation offered J.Crew the opportunity to test the Hong Kong waters and learn first-hand about the market, prior to launching its own Hong Kong stores in 2014.
